J.R. Smith

J.R. brings over three decades of investment, operational and entrepreneurial experience to his role and is a member of the firm’s investment committee.

Prior to Evolution J.R. served as Chief Executive Officer at AVG Technologies (NYSE:AVG) where he was responsible for strategy and operations. As CEO of AVG, J.R. lead the company to its Initial Public Offering in 2012 on the New York Stock Exchange. Previously, J.R. served as Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of United Kingdom based dot mobile, a mobile virtual network operator that partnered with Vodafone to provide mobile services in the UK. J.R. also co-founded Telecom Solutions Group, a pan-European network deployment and telecommunications software company. J.R. began his career in Seattle, Washington with PNC, which became VoiceStream, acquired by T-Mobile (NASDAQ:TMUS).

J.R. holds an MBA from the Washington State University School of Business.
