Karthik Subramanian

Karthik brings over fifteen years of investment, entrepreneurial, and operational experience to his role and is a member of the firm’s investment committee.

Prior to joining Evolution in 2018, Karthik led Cisco’s cybersecurity acquisition and investment team. During his time at Cisco, Karthik helped bring together Cisco’s extensive cybersecurity portfolio through numerous strategic acquisitions. He led several marquee transactions, including the acquisition of Duo Security, OpenDNS, Lancope and Cloudlock with a cumulative transaction value of over $3.75B. Under Karthik’s leadership, Cisco also invested in eleven cybersecurity investments over four years. Karthik’s past board observer positions include; OpenDNS, Elastica, Skyport Systems, Exabeam, and Threat Quotient. Previously, Karthik held roles in several organizations, including Chief Executive Officer & Co-founder of a social analytics startup, Vice-President of Investment Banking at Barclays (previously Lehman Brothers), and technology consultant at Manhattan Associates. At Barclays, Karthik advised software mergers & acquisitions and financing with a cumulative transaction value of over $5B and led Xoom.com’s successful Initial Public Offering on NASDAQ.

Karthik holds an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, an M.S. from Georgia Tech, and a B.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
