Michal Pěchouček

Michal is a Venture Partner at Evolution Equity Partners and brings decades of experience as an artificial Intelligence professor, software executive, and serial entrepreneur.
Michal works closely with the founders and executive teams of Evolution portfolio companies, as well as sources and evaluates new investment opportunities. Michal has been active in the field of AI since the late 1990’s and founded the iconic Artificial Intelligence Center at the Czech Technical University in Prague. Michal co-founded Cognitive Security, one of the first machine learning startups for cybersecurity, which was acquired by CISCO Systems and became the foundation for Cisco’s Cognitive Threat Analytics that today protects tens of millions of users. Michal also co-founded AgentFly Technologies, a drone technology firm and BlindSpot Solutions, an AI/ML consultancy.
Michal graduated from the University of Edinburgh with his Master’s degree and graduated from the Czech Technical University with a PhD. Michal worked at several leading universities, including the University of Calgary and University of Southern California. In 2014 he was listed in the New Europe 100 list of most innovative minds in Central and Eastern Europe.
